This year has seen me pass the Filipino boxing phase of the Nudda instructors course and with that came the exciting prospect of starting my own class. The chance to finally pass the skills and knowledge I have gained so far in my journey on to others. However the excitment of teaching quickly went to the back of my mind as the list of things I would need to do to start my own class got longer and longer. The first task I set myself was to find a venue, I looked at a few locally to me and then discovered that there was avaliabilty at the same location that I am currently training with Al Peasland in CSP. So I contacted the venue and managed to secure a slot to get my classes started, suddenly the list of things I needed to do was a lot more urgent than before. Decide on a name and deisgn a logo, build a website, arrange insurances and most importantly find some students.
I am particuarlly proud of the logo as I managed to use elements from the martial arts I have studied and also with the use of 3 white rings managed to incorporate part of my families crest in the design. Additionaly I have used an historical family motto in “Fight Strong, Live Long” I am not usually a fan of slogans but felt this perfectly summed up my own philosophy on martial arts and life its self. The message I take from this is that life isnt always easy but as long as in all aspects you apply yourself fully and commit to everything then the rewards will just keep coming.I hope that anyone reading this has enjoyed my first attempt at writing a blog post, hopefully my skills as a writer will grow as the months go by which should hopefully make these posts interesting, informative and fun.
